BEDARFSDECKEND - VEGDOG’S ONE POT – ein Topf für alle Felle!

NEEDS COVERING - <tc>VEGDOG</tc>'S ONE POT - one pot for all skins!

Our new wholesome recipe with sustainable protein sources to cook up quickly!

Cooking fresh every day... Do you also plan to do this regularly because it offers so many benefits? Just too little time?

It's not only healthy for us humans, but also for our four-legged friends. It gives us the opportunity to decide individually what ends up in the bowl. This is also practical for allergy sufferers. Or for dogs that are very picky about their food. If we cook ourselves, we determine every component ourselves.

What's more, we don't have to rely on the statements made by various feed manufacturers about the composition of their products and can see for ourselves where the requirements come from.

However, there is one disadvantage to wielding the wooden spoon yourself... It takes time. It's not enough to simply pour the contents of a can or bag into the bowl. It has to be soaked and chopped, cooked and pureed. These days, it can be difficult to free up the necessary time resources.

That's why we've come up with a recipe today where almost all the ingredients end up in one pot - VEGDOG'S ONE POT :)! All you have to do is weigh everything. A large part is then cooked together and pureed if necessary.

Necessary ingredients and daily ration in grams:

QUANTITY CALCULATION EXAMPLE:
the calculation of the quantity is based on the different weight classes. A small dog needs z.B. more in relation to its body weight than a large dog. You always use the amount of the highestweight class specified by us as a guide. If your z.B. weighs 6 kg, you use the weight class for 10 kg as a guide. If your dog weighs 32 kg, for example, you should use the weight class for 25 kg, as this is the highest weight class we have specified.

Here is an example calculation for you if your dog z.B. weighs 32 kg : The highest specified weight class is 25kg, so this is your required reference amount. A 25kg dog needs 100g chickpeas daily. Accordingly, 1kg dog in the weight class of 25kg needs -> 100g/25kg = 4g chickpeas per kg body weight. Then a 32kg dog needs 4g x 32 = 128g chickpeas/day. You do this calculation with all the ingredients. I hope we were able to help you.

For preparation
Cooking vegetables

Weigh the peas, vegetables, lentils and couscous. Use our information for the individual weight categories as a guide.

Peasfrom the freezer shelf are particularly suitable. Forvegetablesit is best to look out for regional and seasonal produce in organic quality (although this is not a must, of course).

Put the above ingredients in a pan, pour water over them and cook until they are really soft. We used about an hour for thisand in the meantime prepared the remaining ingredients and worked on new products for you in the home office🙂

WATCH OUT - THIS SHOULD NOT BE IN THE POT:Bear in mind that onions, eggplants, tomatoes and peppers are not suitable for dogs, sind.Statt but it is recommended to add, for example: Zucchinis, broccoli, various types of cabbage, carrots, fennel and celery.

We used the dry ingredients to conjure up a topping, which ended up on top of our "pot" in the final step. To do this,we mixed the oil with the powder and herbs(a little water may need to be added for a creamy consistency) and added thechopped nuts.

Toxic herbs

The question often arises as to which herbs you can safely use for your pets. Generally speaking: almost all of them! And the great thing is that every herb has a different, positive effect on the body. Only a few herbs and spices are generally not recommended. These include garlic granules, onion powder, pepper and nutmeg.

Some ingredients only have a negative effect on certain illnesses.

For example, rosemary must not be fed to epileptics as it can trigger seizures.

In general, pregnant bitchesare a risk group when it comes to herbs. Due to a sometimes labor-promoting effect, they must not be given sage, parsley, coriander or dill.

We recommend that you inform yourself well in advance or contact us.

Healthy herbs

Some herbs can be offered to any dog without hesitation.

For example, basil has an anti-inflammatory and digestive effect.

Watercressstimulates the appetite and contains important minerals and trace elements and nettle has long been known as a good detoxifying agent.

Please bear in mind that you first have to find out whether your four-legged friends like the new ingredients. So add small amounts first. Oftendried herbs are better accepted than fresh ones.

Nuts

Once you have decided which herb is right for you, you need to decide on the types of nuts you want to use in this recipe.

You also have a large selection to choose from here. Nevertheless, there is a note in advance: nuts (especially peanuts) can have a potentially allergenic effect, so test carefully (not large quantities and different varieties).

Nuts generally contain high-quality fatty acids and various minerals and trace elements. You can choose betweenhazelnuts, walnuts, Brazil nuts, cashews and pistachios. You can also share your chestnuts with your favorites. These are particularly well tolerated.

Poisonous nuts

Do not givemacadamia nuts, bitter almonds (sweet almonds are allowed) and black walnuts , as there is a risk of poisoning

Once you have selected your ingredients and mixed your topping, there is not much left to do. It is advisable to puree the ingredients in a pot to improve digestibility. Add the mineral mixture once everything has cooled down so as not to damage the sensitive vitamins.

It didn't take us much longer to prepare this meal than it did to open a can. How are you doing? We look forward to your reports!

Fundamental and important points to consider when cooking for yourself:

1. Using vegetables
You can be very flexible and creative in your choice of vegetables. We recommend using regional and seasonal produce. In general, the following applies to the processing of vegetables: What you eat raw as a human can also be eaten raw by your dog. Anything you have to cook yourself should also be cooked for the dog.

For example, you can feed the following raw: carrots, cucumber, lettuce, zucchini, kohlrabi, pumpkin

The following should be cooked: spinach (only small amounts!), broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts

You can puree, grate or roughly chop the raw vegetables. The finer they are processed, the better the vitamins are available for digestion. In general, however, all recipes are also sufficient if you feed the vegetables in coarse pieces. This creates more fullness in the stomach. This (sometimes also visually psychological) effect has a particularly positive effect on dogs that are constantly hungry. In addition, the important intestinal bacteria are supplied with food due to the increased fiber content.

Since cabbage can cause flatulence even when cooked, you should start with small portions and increase them meal by meal.

Spinach contains oxalic acid. Small amounts are allowed between meals for adult, healthy dogs. Puppies, young dogs and four-legged friends with disabilities should not eat spinach.

Conventional vegetables should always be washed well before processing - especially if they are fed with the peel on. Alternatively, the use of organic products is of course recommended.

You can alternate the different types of vegetables as you wish.

We recommend taking your dog's preferences into account 🙂

Attention: Onions, garlic, eggplant, peppers and tomatoes should NOT be fed.

2. Add cooked or raw fruit
Fruit can also be combined and alternated - depending on what your dog can tolerate. Suitable are z.B. Apples, oranges, bananas, raspberries, strawberries, melonsYou don't need to worry about the fructose it contains. This does not lead to obesity when fresh fruit is fed. For obese animals, however, the amount of banana should be kept low and dried fruit should be avoided if possible. This has a higher calorie content and can also lead to flatulence and diarrhea. Fruit pits should be removed, as they contain hydrocyanic acid enthalten.Bitte Wash the fruit thoroughly before feeding. Here, too, you can let your imagination run wild - from finely chopped to grated or as a smoothie - anything that is fun is allowed.
