The story behind VEGDOG

Tessa, founder of VEGDOG:

How my dog Nelson became vegan - the story behind VEGDOG

My German shepherd mix Nelson suffered from a food intolerance for years. No hypoallergenic food - whether with horse, kangaroo or ostrich - was successful. Itching and stomach problems persisted.

Then the vet's surprising advice: "Try it without animal protein." I was skeptical - but after four weeks of home-cooked, vegan food, Nelson was symptom-free. But the daily cooking was time-consuming.

Many ready-made vegan foods did not fully meet his needs. So, together with a specialist vet, I developed the first vegan, grain-free and 100% complete food for dogs.

Thus VEGDOG was born - out of love for Nelson and all dogs with food allergies. 💚

But we weren't just able to help Nelson...

FAQ

Is a vegan dog diet possible?

Yes, that actually works. However, as with any type of food, you have to make sure that the dog is provided with everything. For this reason, the required minerals, trace elements and vitamins are added to the vegan dog food from VEGDOG , which cannot be completely covered by the ingredients used. This is necessary for every complete food (whether with or without meat) to ensure an optimal supply. To ensure that our vegan wet food can be fed as a complete food, we have nutritional analyses carried out on our varieties.

Doesn't my dog need animal protein?

There are plant proteins that are comparable to animal proteins and can be utilized just as well by dogs. For this reason, you should always look for a high-quality source of protein in vegan dog food.

How should the feed be changed to VEGDOG ?

The changeover should be made carefully over a period of three weeks. Gradually increase the amount of food VEGDOG and reduce the amount of food previously fed. Weigh your dog at regular intervals and monitor its general condition.
