New member of the VEGDOGherd

We at VEGDOG are very proud that we can contribute to helping animals in need with our work. Since her childhood, founder Tessa has dreamed of being able to give animals a life that is worth living and appropriate to their species, and she is able to fulfill this dream bit by bit with her company.

There are now 22 rescued sheep living in a flock on extensive meadows by Lake Ammersee, being lovingly cared for and enjoying their lives. Brand new to the VEGDOG herd: Pony Pepsi!

The discarded former funfair pony has been passed around, carted around and exploited all his life. A happy pony life looks different!

Pepsi suffered silently. He had to endure years of hellish torment and nobody saw him or listened to him. When Pepsi came to us, he could barely eat, his skin was infested with parasites and a procedure of veterinary treatments began. Due to poor husbandry, the pony suffers from equine asthma, a chronic lung disease.

Thanks to the life-saving dental treatment, Pepsi can eat again and enjoy his life with our sheep and another pony. And just be a pony!

Petra, the founder and chairwoman of the Lebenshof Hohenwart e.Vassociation, was able to fulfill a lifelong dream with the farm. Since her youth, she - like VEGDOGfounder Tessa - has pursued the vision of helping animals in need.

Now she gives former so-called farm animals and animals from poor husbandry a species-appropriate and useless home.

On her farm in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps near the Lech river, Petra and her husband manage the animals' stables and over 24 hectares of land used for grazing and fodder production. For the winter, another stable compartment is to be created and an open stable added to optimize the pig run.
