WEIL JEDES LEBEN ZÄHLT: UNSERE SCHAFSHERDE

BECAUSE EVERY LIFE COUNTS: OUR FLOCK OF SHEEP

We rescued them exactly 3 years ago and there are more and more of them. This year, with your help, we would like to adopt two more bucks and give them a happy, long life in the VEGDOG herd. With our Easter campaign, we are therefore giving you 5% off your purchase*, while at the same time 5% will go towards the pot to care for the herd and other rescue operations.

ALL SHEEP IN THE TROCKENEN.UNSERE SHEEP Flock

The VEGDOGgang: This is of course our pack of dogs, but also our wonderful flock of sheep! We have saved every single one of these sheep from slaughter so that they can lead a happy life today. But how do you actually get hold of a rescued flock of sheep?

Once upon a time... at Easter. To be more precise: shortly before Easter 2021, Tessa met a flock of sheep on an outing and learned that many of the animals were sick or in foal. The lambs were intended as Easter lambs and the mothers were also to be slaughtered later. For Tessa - a mother herself - it was clear: the sheep should give birth to their lambs and be allowed to stay with them! And in no time at all, the VEGDOGteam had a small flock of 13 sheep. Here you can see them in action:

TWO OF MANY FATES

Amelie the sheep was very ill at the beginning. She was suffering from liver damage, one leg was dislocated and she was severely underweight. Emergency slaughter was imminent. We quickly took over the veterinary costs so that Amelie could put weight on her leg again thanks to her osteopathic treatment. Amelie was able to enjoy her twilight years to the full until she sadly passed away in January 2022.

Cäsar was also a particularly touching case. The vets wanted to euthanize him due to a joint disease and refused to treat him. The little buck was only eight months old at the time. But we didn't want to give up on Caesar.

We decided to treat him like one of our beloved VEGDOGs, like a member of the family - no matter what the cost. So we took him to a special clinic for dogs, where he received the treatment he deserved. You may now be wondering why he was treated in a clinic for dogs. Unfortunately, so-called farm animals are not usually treated fully when they are ill. Therefore, there is a lack of veterinary conditions for such an intervention. It was an expensive decision, but everything else was out of the question for us.

Cäsar's fate reminds us that every life, whether a so-called farm animal or a pet, is precious and deserves to be saved.

Our small flock of sheep is just the beginning! Although we are already saving many animal lives through the sale of our products, we want to do more - for example with further rescue campaigns. Every living creature has the right to life, peace and joy. That's why we want to continue to grow the VEGDOGfamily and give as many animals as possible a good life.

Stay tuned!
