"Pet food only contains slaughterhouse waste anyway" - a widespread myth. In fact, according to a major producer, 60-80% of the processed animal ingredients are of food quality and could still have been consumed by humans. Why is that? Pet owners are placing ever higher demands on the food quality of their pets and do not want to serve "waste". At the same time, most pet owners don't want to admit that other animals are slaughteredfor their pets. The legal basis that an animal ingredient that passes through a feed company is automatically - and regardless of its actual quality - degraded to slaughterhouse waste unfortunately obscures the reality.

Most pet owners probably don't think about what exactly is contained in the pellets of their pet's dry food or wet food. After all, it's hard to imagine that this was once a sentient being.
In fact, 520,000,000 kg of dog food is sold in Germany every year. This includes 1.2 million cattle or 2.1 million horses or 20 million lambs or 382 million chickens. These are unimaginably high figures. The bad thing is that it wouldn't be necessary, as dogs can also be fed a wonderful and healthy plant-based diet without animal suffering.
