OUR VEGDOOG HERD
We love animals! That's why we pet them all and eat no one! For us (and all our VEGDOGS) animals are friends, not food.
For this reason, we could not allow a group of sheep to be taken to the slaughterhouse! Sheep Amelie was very sick. Tessa noticed it and promptly adopted the sheep on behalf of VEGDOG.
Now there is not only a VEGDOG pack, but also a VEGDOG herd.
The lead sheep Rosie, a pretty Cameroon lady, is very trusting and is always happy to see us on her pasture at Lake Ammersee. She even comes running up and greets not only us, but also the dogs.
With every purchase of our VEGDOG products you not only leave a green paw print and save animal lives, you also support our VEGDOG sheep herd! So a big thank you on behalf of Rosie & Co.!
A few words from Liv, our sheep carer:
Since the end of December 2022, I have been looking after the VEGDOG flock of sheep, which is now at home in Fischen, with great joy. The small stable, the daily stable work and of course the time with the animals have now become a refuge far away from everyday life. The calm and serenity, the nature of the sheep, is transferred to us humans. I find the effects that these animals can have on us extremely exciting. Sheep are flight animals. This is reflected in their every movement and in the way they perceive their environment. Rosie, the lead sheep, shows an attentiveness and alertness that impresses me. In general, it is fascinating to be able to observe and accompany the flock. Each of the sheep has its own character, but only as a whole can they function and survive. What was initially a part-time job has now become so much more than that. Every day I learn new things and have the opportunity to study the behavior of the animals.
The sheep is one of the first animals that humans domesticated. We live in a fast-paced world full of haste and time pressure. I am convinced that these animals could help many people to slow down. Sheep have been proven to help people who suffer from depression.
The sheep is not just a "product supplier" for us humans and should not be seen as such.
Thanks to VEGDOG, 18 sheep currently have the opportunity to live. A life that allows them to move freely in their herd. I enjoy being able to watch the "troop" every day.
